Border crossing process

All transfers between Dubai and Oman cross the UAE–Oman border. The most common crossing points are the Hatta border (for routes to Muscat and the Batinah coast) and the Al Ain / Mezyad border (for routes via the interior).

Two-vehicle border service

Transfers between Dubai and Oman use two dedicated vehicles - one on each side of the border. Your first driver takes you to the Hatta exit post. After exit control, a shuttle bus takes you between the two posts (a small fee may apply for the last leg, paid locally). A second driver with a fresh vehicle is waiting on the other side to continue your journey.
