What clients say
“From scheduling to pickup to drop off the service was five stars all the way. I used them for a long trip between UAE and Saudi and everything, including the border car switch, was arranged and went smoothly.”
Route guide
Heading south from Kuwait City, this transfer takes you across the Nuwaiseeb border into Saudi Arabia and on to Riyadh. You start with a Kuwaiti driver, clear both checkpoints, then meet a Saudi driver at the agreed handover point for the long stretch to the capital. Kuwait residents with business in Riyadh book it, as do families going to see relatives and travellers who would rather not deal with airports.
Travel time & distance
Duration
~8–9 hours
Distance
~700 km
Plan for 8 to 9 hours. Leaving Kuwait City outside rush hour helps, and the crossing at Nuwaiseeb and Al Khafji usually takes 30 to 60 minutes. After that it is a long drive on Saudi highways, broken up with rest stops, before the final approach into Riyadh.
Choosing when to leave Kuwait
An early morning departure gets you to Riyadh by mid-afternoon, ahead of the capital's evening traffic. Evening departures arrive early the next morning and suit people who sleep well in a car. During Ramadan, travel patterns shift around iftar, and the days before Eid are usually the busiest at the border. If you have flexibility, a weekday trip is the calmest option.
Border crossing process
Nuwaiseeb / Al Khafji
Your next driver meets you at the agreed handover point at the border. We confirm the exact point with you before the trip.
- 1Your Kuwaiti driver takes you to the Al Nuwaiseeb exit post
- 2Kuwaiti exit passport control
- 3Saudi entry at Al Khafji: passport, visa and customs checks
- 4Your next driver meets you at the agreed handover point and continues to Riyadh
A second vehicle with a fresh driver will be waiting after the border to continue your journey. The entire process is coordinated in advance to minimise waiting times and ensure a seamless experience.
Crossing at Nuwaiseeb
- Your Kuwaiti driver drops you at the Nuwaiseeb exit post.
- You are stamped out of Kuwait, then complete Saudi entry at Al Khafji. We confirm the handover point before the trip.
- Saudi immigration and customs check passengers and bags. Check the visa rules for your passport before travelling.
- A Saudi driver meets you after entry and drives you on to Riyadh.
