    What clients say

    5.0 on Google
“The trip was long but the car was of excellent quality (a BMW 7 series). I had to change cars at the border between UAE and KSA where I had to take a taxi between the border controls, however, the 2nd car was already waiting for me on the other side of the border and the handover was very smooth, including luggage transfer.”

    Route guide

Riyadh to Kuwait takes you north-east through Saudi Arabia to the coastal crossing at Al Khafji and into Kuwait at Nuwaiseeb. A Saudi driver covers the long first stretch. At the border you leave the car, clear exit and entry with your luggage, and a second driver collects you on the Kuwaiti side for the last leg to Kuwait City. Families visiting relatives and business travellers between the two capitals are typical passengers.

    Travel time & distance

    Duration

    ~8–9 hours

    Distance

    ~700 km

Expect 8 to 9 hours. The Saudi highway section is long and steady. The border at Al Khafji and Nuwaiseeb is the main variable, typically 30 to 60 minutes and longer around holidays. Your arrival time in Kuwait City also depends on evening traffic.

Who travels Riyadh to Kuwait by road

    • Kuwaiti and Saudi families visiting relatives on the other side of the border.
    • Business travellers with meetings in both capitals who want to work on the way.
    • Groups and larger families who prefer one per-vehicle fare to buying several plane tickets.
    • Residents moving between the two countries with more luggage than a flight allows.

    Border crossing process

    Nuwaiseeb / Al Khafji

Your next driver meets you at the agreed handover point at the border. We confirm the exact point with you before the trip.

    1. 1Your Saudi driver takes you to the Al Khafji exit post
    2. 2Saudi exit passport control
    3. 3Kuwaiti entry at Al Nuwaiseeb: passport, visa and customs checks
    4. 4Your next driver meets you at the agreed handover point and continues to Kuwait

A second vehicle with a fresh driver will be waiting after the border to continue your journey. The entire process is coordinated in advance to minimise waiting times and ensure a seamless experience.

    Changing cars at Al Khafji

The Saudi car stops at the exit post in Al Khafji. You clear Saudi passport control and customs, then Kuwaiti entry formalities at Nuwaiseeb. Your Kuwait-side driver meets you at the agreed handover point, which we confirm with you before the trip. Keep passports, visas and any travel documents in a small bag you can reach easily, and choose suitcases you can wheel yourself.
