Route guide
Dubai to Muscat is one of the busiest cross-border drives in the Gulf, and one of the most scenic, through the Hajar Mountains at Hatta and down to the Omani coast. Weekenders, families on a short break and business travellers all book it. After exit control a shuttle bus takes you between the posts, and a second driver collects you on the Omani side for the run to Muscat.

Count on 5 to 6 hours behind the wheel. Dubai traffic on the way out and queues at the Hatta crossing decide where you land in that range. Long weekends and UAE public holidays send a lot of cars towards Oman, so an early departure pays off.
A long weekend in Oman
Many people book this route for a long weekend. Leaving Dubai early in the morning gets you to Muscat around lunchtime, with the afternoon free for the beach or the souq in Muttrah. If you're travelling over a public holiday, book a few days ahead and expect a busier border. You can arrange the return at the same time.

A second vehicle with a fresh driver will be waiting after the border to continue your journey. The entire process is coordinated in advance to minimise waiting times and ensure a seamless experience.
Crossing at Hatta
Your UAE driver takes you to the exit checkpoint, where passports are stamped out. From there a shuttle bus takes you to the Omani post for entry and customs, with a small fee possible for that leg. A second driver waits on the Omani side and takes you on to Muscat. Keep passports and any Oman visa details handy, as you'll show them more than once before you're through.
Pick‑up in Dubai, drop‑off in Muscat
We collect from anywhere in Dubai, including Dubai Marina, Downtown, Palm Jumeirah, Business Bay and Dubai International Airport (DXB). In Muscat we drop off in Qurum, Al Mouj, Shatti Al Qurum, Muttrah or at Muscat International Airport (MCT).
