    Route guide

From Kuwait City, the run south to Dammam takes most of a morning or afternoon. Travellers use it for work in the Eastern Province, for flights out of King Fahd International, or for a weekend in Al Khobar. Your Kuwait driver collects you and takes you to the exit post at Nuwaiseeb. After Kuwaiti and Saudi control, a Saudi driver meets you at the agreed handover point for the drive on to Dammam.

    Travel time & distance

    Duration

    ~6–7 hours

    Distance

    ~450 km

Allow around 6 to 7 hours. The Kuwaiti part before the border is short; the Saudi side is the longer highway stretch south. Border queues are the wildcard, heavier on weekends and before holidays. If you have a flight from DMM, build in a margin.

    Best time to leave Kuwait

    • Early morning: a quieter border and arrival in Dammam by lunchtime
    • Midday: fine on weekdays, though any stops on the Saudi stretch will be hot
    • Evening: a late arrival, so share your hotel details for a direct drop
    • The start of public holidays: best avoided, as border queues are longest

    Border crossing process

    Nuwaiseeb / Al Khafji

Your next driver meets you at the agreed handover point at the border. We confirm the exact point with you before the trip.

    1. 1Your Kuwaiti driver takes you to the Al Nuwaiseeb exit post
    2. 2Kuwaiti exit passport control
    3. 3Saudi entry at Al Khafji: passport, visa and customs checks
    4. 4Your next driver meets you at the agreed handover point and continues to Dammam

A second vehicle with a fresh driver will be waiting after the border to continue your journey. The entire process is coordinated in advance to minimise waiting times and ensure a seamless experience.

    What happens at the border

Your first driver stops at the Kuwaiti exit post at Nuwaiseeb. From there you clear Kuwaiti passport and customs control, then Saudi entry at Al Khafji, where your visa and documents are checked. Your second driver meets you at the agreed handover point, which we confirm before the trip. We arrange both cars in advance, so the Saudi side is ready when you clear.

    Kuwait pick‑up, Eastern Province drop‑off

We pick up from homes and hotels in Kuwait City, Salmiya, Sharq, Jabriya and Fintas, and from Kuwait International Airport (KWI). Drop‑offs cover central Dammam, Al Khobar, Dhahran and King Fahd International Airport (DMM), plus compounds and company housing across the area.
