    Route guide

From Doha, the road to Muscat leaves Qatar at Abu Samra, cuts through Saudi Arabia to Al Batha, crosses the width of the UAE and enters Oman at Hatta. It is around 1,050 km, so we recommend two days. The trip is chosen by Qatar residents taking a long holiday in Oman, families relocating, and people moving with more luggage than a flight allows.

Two days is the comfortable plan. Salwa, Al Ghuwaifat and Hatta all take time, and holiday periods slow them further. Leaving Doha early lets you clear the first two borders on day one, with a night in the UAE before the Hatta crossing and the drive into Muscat.

Splitting the trip with a UAE stop

Day one covers Qatar, the Saudi stretch and the UAE border, ending at a hotel in Abu Dhabi or Dubai. Day two is the drive east to Hatta, the Omani border and the final run to Muscat. Breaking the journey here keeps both days manageable, and you reach Oman rested rather than worn out. Tell us your preferred stop when you book.
