This route involves a direct land crossing between Saudi Arabia and Qatar via the Salwa border. The journey is completed in the same vehicle, with no vehicle change required.

Entering Qatar by road
At Salwa you are stamped out of Saudi Arabia, then you clear Qatari immigration and customs at Abu Samra a few minutes later. GCC nationals enter freely. Many other passports get visa-free entry on arrival, and others apply online through Qatar's Hayya portal before travel. Your driver handles the vehicle paperwork on both sides.
