    Route guide

Dubai to Kuwait is a full-day drive through two borders and Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. It suits families moving between the two cities and travellers who want their luggage beside them, not in a hold. From Dubai you head west to Al Ghuwaifat, leave the UAE car, cross to the Saudi post by free shuttle bus or taxi and meet the next driver. A second crossing at Al Khafji and Nuwaiseeb takes you into Kuwait.

    Travel time & distance

    Duration

    ~16–17 hours

    Distance

    ~1,250 km

The trip takes about 16 to 17 hours. The two borders account for a good part of that, especially the UAE-Saudi crossing at Al Ghuwaifat and Al Batha. An early start from Dubai gets you to Kuwait late in the evening. Rest stops on the Saudi highway are built into the day.

    Who drives Dubai to Kuwait

    • Families relocating with more suitcases than an airline allows
    • Kuwait residents heading home after a stint or a holiday in the UAE
    • Travellers who would rather not connect through airports or wait at baggage belts
    • Groups sharing one vehicle, since the price is per vehicle, not per seat
    • GCC nationals, who move freely within the GCC and only need their usual documents
