    Route guide

From Kuwait City, Dubai is a long day south through Saudi Arabia. People book it to relocate to the UAE, to bring a car-load of luggage, or because they prefer the road to a flight. You leave Kuwait with your first driver, clear Nuwaiseeb and Al Khafji in person, then continue down through the Eastern Province. At Al Batha you change cars, cross to the UAE post by free shuttle bus or taxi and meet your Dubai driver.

    Travel time & distance

    Duration

    ~16–17 hours

    Distance

    ~1,250 km

Allow roughly 16 to 17 hours. The Kuwait-Saudi crossing comes early in the day, the UAE-Saudi crossing near the end. Reaching Al Batha in the late afternoon can mean queues. After UAE entry there are still a few hours through Abu Dhabi emirate to Dubai, so expect a late-evening arrival.

    Relocating to Dubai by car

For a move, a private car carries what a flight will not. An SUV or van takes the suitcases, boxes and children's things for the first weeks in Dubai, with no excess baggage charges. Child seats are free on request. Tell us roughly what you are bringing when you book, and we will suggest the right vehicle size. You arrive at the door of your new home or hotel, not an arrivals hall.
