    Route guide

Muscat to Bahrain is one of the longest drives on our network, crossing Oman, the UAE and Saudi Arabia before the King Fahd Causeway. It tends to suit people relocating, families moving with a lot of luggage, or anyone who would simply rather not fly. You leave Muscat from your door and arrive at your address in Bahrain. You change cars at the borders along the way, with a new driver waiting on the far side.

    Travel time & distance

    Duration

    ~2 days recommended

    Distance

    ~1,150 km

We recommend spreading the 1,150 km over 2 days. Each border adds time, and the UAE-Saudi crossing at Al Ghuwaifat can be slow at busy periods. Splitting the drive means nobody arrives exhausted, and you reach the causeway into Bahrain rested rather than at the end of a marathon day.

    Moving to Bahrain by road

For a relocation, the drive solves several problems at once. There are no airline baggage limits, so an SUV or van can carry what a family actually needs for the first weeks. Children ride in free child seats, and the overnight stop turns the journey into two manageable days. Tell us how many suitcases and boxes you have when you book, and we will suggest the vehicle that fits.

    Border crossing process

This route crosses 3 borders, each with its own arrangement. At Al Wajajah / Hatta: After exit control, a shuttle bus takes you between the two posts (a small fee may apply for the last leg, paid locally). Your next driver is waiting just past the border. At Al Ghuwaifat / Al Batha: Your first driver takes you to the exit post. After passport control, you cross to the other post by free shuttle bus or by taxi (about AED 300-400, paid locally). Your second driver is waiting on the other side. At the King Fahd Causeway: You stay in the same car, with your luggage on board.
