    Route guide

Heading east from Riyadh, you cross the Saudi interior and reach the UAE at Al Batha / Al Ghuwaifat, then continue along the coast to Abu Dhabi. This direction is popular with people relocating from the Kingdom, with families going on holiday to the UAE and with business travellers who want to work in the car. You change cars at the border, so the Saudi leg and the UAE leg each have their own driver.

    Travel time & distance

    Duration

    ~10 hours

    Distance

    ~950 km

The trip takes roughly 10 hours. Riyadh traffic on the way out can add time at peak hours. After that it is mostly highway, with a rest stop or two and 30 to 60 minutes at the border in a typical case.

Relocating from Riyadh to Abu Dhabi

When a move involves suitcases, boxes and a pushchair, an airline baggage allowance quickly becomes a problem. A van takes the lot, and you see it all again at your new front door. Tell us roughly how many bags you have when you book so we send the right vehicle on both sides of the border. Your bags stay with you through the checkpoints, so trolley-friendly cases help.

    Border crossing process

A second vehicle with a fresh driver will be waiting after the border to continue your journey. The entire process is coordinated in advance to minimise waiting times and ensure a seamless experience.
